Computer-vision research at IIT Gandhinagar's CVIG Lab, after a seven-month R&D stint at Solar Defence and Aerospace — sensor fusion across LiDAR and mmWave radar, obstacle avoidance and SLAM for autonomous drones.

Computer Vision, Imaging and Graphics Lab, IIT Gandhinagar · Prof. Shanmuganathan Raman
Working on image appearance transfer and developing image decomposition techniques.
May – Dec 2025 · 7 months
R&D Division, UAV Department · Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited, Nagpur
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR): developed a system for subsurface detection and mapping.
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR): contributed to a project for high-resolution imaging.
LiDAR + mmWave radar: led a project from scratch for real-time obstacle detection, avoidance and SLAM on autonomous drones used in disaster management and emergency response, and owned its integration with the other teams.
Took the internship in place of a semester, learnt QML from scratch and completed my project within the first month. Gained expertise in defence-industry protocols, quality standards and technical documentation.
Earned 11/10 in one performance quadrant and 10/10 in the remaining three, graded by IIT Gandhinagar professors — ranked 1st in the entire batch— and earned praise from the company. My manager named me “Most popular person in the office”.

Distributed Systems
A from-scratch stack in Python and gRPC: a cached replicated file system, Raft and primary-backup replication, a linearizable key-value store, and a data-parallel ML trainer that checkpoints into it.

Seven months in the UAV Department at Solar Defence and Aerospace — GPR, SAR, and a LiDAR + mmWave radar project for autonomous drones (obstacle avoidance and SLAM) that I led from scratch.

Machine Learning
Smartphone sensor data sampled at 200 Hz, cleaned with Butterworth and median filters, classified with tuned Decision Trees. PCA visualisation of distinct activity clusters.

Game Theory
Two-player avoidance of monochromatic triangles on the complete graph K₆, in C. The computer searches the full game tree with memoised minimax and adapts to the turn order you pick.
